Smackdown Spoilers for January 26, 2007

News, Spoilers

The WWE Friday Night Smackdown tapings last night in Mobile, Alabama, began with a dark match that saw ECW Extremist Hardcore Holly defeat Smackdown Superstar Chavo Guerrero in a squash to get Holly’s hometown crowd up for the show. (I guess Holly’s not as injured as some Internet reports initially stated.) Then the show proper began…

Smackdown for January 26, 2007

– World Heavyweight Champion Batista beat Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms in a non-title match with the Batista Bomb.

– Chris Benoit beat The Miz with the Crippler Crossface.

– Duece & Domino won a squash match with a boot to the face.

– King Booker and Dave Finlay went to a double-DQ after knocking out the ref while fighting on the outside of the ring.

– In an interview segment, Ken Kennedy was interrupted by Batista, and then — after the lights went out and the bell bonged — The Undertaker. Taker tried to kick Kennedy, but the number one contender moved and Taker instead kicked Batista.

– RAW’s Johnny Nitro and Melina teamed up with Smackdown’s Joey Mercury as MNM to beat WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London and Brian Kendrick, along with their valet Ashley Masarro. Kendrick took the pin after the Snapshot.

– Kristal asks Teddy Long to check her out in his office, then Vickie Guerrero walks in, but both end up leaving because Long’s busy on a phonecall.

– Kane beat MVP by DQ after Porter used a chair. MVP then tried to pour gasoline over Kane to burn him, but Kane sat up and ran his nemesis off.

– Michael Cole interviews Vladamir Kozlov in the audience, and he not only loves DOUBLE DOUBLE EE, but says he could win the Royal Rumble. Does that mean he’s in it?

– The main event was an Over The Top Challenge that began with six participants (Kane, Benoit, Finlay, MVP, Miz, Booker), but added a seventh as The Undertaker appeared (after Kane had already been tossed out) and eliminated everyone else to win.

After ECW taped, The Undertaker & Kane, with special guest and Alabama native Paul Bearer, beat Kennedy & MVP in a dark match main event.
