“Are You On the List?” Part 2, “The Fix”

I think that we’re gonna need code names for the Heroes soon. If the Valiant Universe could have (almost) no capes and code names, why not Heroes?

New York, NY
Three different storylines happening here, with two intersecting with one another. Hiro and Ando have been captured by the “Big Boss” (Bruce Lee reference?), who turns out to be Hiro’s dad, played (as you know now) by George Takei. Obviously, this was meant to be a comedy subplot, and not meant to be surprising in the least. Unless we were meant to believe that they were being taken to Linderman.

Meanwhile, Nathan and Mohinder are looking for Peter, who hasn’t been answering his cellphone. As it turns out, he’s tracking down Doctor Who because he knows how to turn his power on and off. Or maybe not, since we can’t say whether we’ve SEEN him truly visible or not. Regardless, it appears that the good Doctor will be helping Peter in his quest to control his powers and prevent the explosion.

And in an important revelation, Mohinder reveals the number of people on “The List”. Because I’m an idiot and didn’t write it down, I remember it as 36, but I could be wrong there. So down at the bottom I’m gonna channel my inner Trabold and compile the characters that I think are on “The List”.

Las Vegas (or thereabouts), NV
Niki’s still in the rubber room, and even a visit from D.L. can’t convince her to get out until she gets rid of Jessica. D.L. feels that he needs her because he doesn’t know how to take care of Micah on his own. Micah, meanwhile, is headed towards a life of crime with his power, which seems to be some form of electronic manipulation. I don’t remember a mutant with an analagous power, although this seems similar to Techno in Thunderbolts and Whiz Kid in X-Terminators so someone needs to help me out here.

Odessa, TX
So Claire now has to lie to her dad that her memory is gone, and has gotten both Zach and the Haitian involved. Does it bother anyone else that she’s supposed to be 16 and is meeting a grown man out in the middle of nowhere? OK, well, she and Zach work on finding out about her biological parents, under the guise of a biology project about the manatee. And it seems that they ARE doing the project to ensure that H.R.G. doesn’t catch on. Talk about going that extra mile. We find out that she reaches her real mother, who is a pyrokinetic. In the preview we see her mother talking to her father, who might be… Linderman? H.R.G.? Eric Roberts? I can’t wait to find out.

Meanwhile, Sylar is still imprisoned, but the inevitable happens and he escapes. And we’re left with the cliffhanger that he’s gonna do something to H.R.G., but chances are… not so much. But he’s gonna go after Mr. Muggles, and well, I can’t say that I care that much about Muggles or Mrs. Bennet. Or Lyle, for that matter.

Los Angeles, CA
Parkman gets suspended, and Janice is preggers. I’m sure that this is headed somewhere…

The List
Claire Bennet – Regeneration

D.L. Hawkins – Becomes intangible

Peter Petrelli – Power mimic
Micah Sanders – Technical manipulation (?)
Niki Sanders – Superhuman strength

Sarah “Eden” Ellis – Persuasion
Hana Gitelman – Techno telepath (?)

See you next Monday, when you’re nursing your Super Bowl hangover!
