The Ultimate Warrior is back

Ladies and gentleman, and 12 year old transsexuals, our-enemies-within are inspiring a future world where we humans will soon be out to pasture, as we will fondly remember was once done to the real beasts, not the rational animals. I’m looking forward to it, actually. Being a full-time Stud living a life of leisure and pleasure might not be so bad after all.

And he’s got a blog. And podcasts. It’s much funnier when you imagine him reading it aloud. link here. Please listen to the podcasts. Please. It’s AMAZING. There will be a Warrior drinking game announced later on the Dribble.

The big E launches more online content
www.wwe.com/broadband is live and has too many new shows to list. I’d get bored and you’re probably reading this while drunk, so let’s be honest with ourselves. When you sober up, check out the Inside Pulse coverage here.

The WWE sells out three consecutive shows
So the WWE sold out the Rumble, RAW and Smackdown in Texas. Yahoo covered it and now I’m writing about Yahoo writing about it. Selling out shows used to be the norm, not something worth writing about.

TNA “attacks” my intelligence
TNA.com posted a “news” item about how LAX came up to New York City to attack Brother Ray and Brother Devon and brought a camera (and Vince Russo according to the rumor sites) to tape it.

WWE writes story on Elijah Burke

“…it took not one, not two, not even three, but four ECW Originals to come out to the ring and try to take down the Experience. Needless to say, I live to fight another day and each one of them will be handled and dealt with accordingly.”

A fluff piece on Elijah Burke, but a pretty good fluff picee at that. While you’re there, check out the redesign of ecw.com. Pretty nice touches.

JR wasn’t punished, Michael Cole needed help
JR never stops blogging. Seriously.

“I have received many comments as to why I did not get the assignment to broadcast the Rumble match. Obviously, I don’t make these assignments and I would have loved to have been a part of the match, which I thoroughly enjoyed by the way, but that wasn’t the decision from the home office. I have done my fair share of Rumble matches and had no problem watching the match from the locker room area and listening to Michael Cole handle the play by play. With Michael and the King originally penciled in to handle the broadcast side of the match, the wild card in the equation was the addition of another Smackdown announcer, JBL, to the mix and not an ECW representative. I have no issues whatsoever with the way the Rumble match was broadcast, but having two Smackdown announcers, one Raw announcer, and no ECW announcers had me scratching my head.”

“What does getting beat like a government mule mean? In Oklahoma in the late 1800s when settlers came to Indian Territory, Oklahoma did not become a state until 1907, the United States Government gave these settlers 160 acres of land and mules to plow the land to make it productive, as the land produced much of the food the humans and their animals ate. Some settlers were cold hearted, did not want to work hard and were basically not worth a damn and they abused the mules the government had provided them. Getting beat like a government mule is a saying my late grandfather used to use which included a smattering of profanity.”

“Even though I think the Colts will win the Super Bowl, I am pulling for the Bears. There, I said it.”

Supposedly JR was in the back feeding Cole with lines and producing him from backstage.

And just when we thought he was done for the day, JR has pushed out another blog post.

It has been brought to my attention that the reason I did not handle the play by play of the Royal Rumble match this past Sunday was because of a decision made by my friend and fellow Oklahoma Sooner football fan WWE Executive Producer/Executive Vice President Kevin Dunn. This is categorically false.

Another misconception is that I am close to “hanging it up”. As ESPN’s Lee Corso would say, “Not so fast my friend.” I have not physically felt this good in years and I feel there is still ample fuel left in my tank for several more years of being productive.

I attended a birthday party for a friend last night here in Norman with the Mrs. and with OU Football Coach Bob Stoops who is excited about this year’s small but talented recruiting class the Sooners expect to sign next Wednesday

Occasionally, I get the morbid questions as to why many wrestlers die young. There are many reasons for these tragedies and some day if I write a book I will most likely elaborate on my thoughts on this subject. I will say this, many wrestlers who passed away abnormally young made bad personal decisions on a frequent basis with the thought that they were bullet proof.

We are often asked here about the WWE having pay per view events in the UK and in Australia.

Those were just samplings of the second post.

Lance on backstage politics
Lance Storm has some of the best wrestling commentary available on the web. This week is a post about backstage politics, both good and bad. He gives a great example in the process as well.

Jimmy Rave blogs! Did that really deserve an exclamation point?

When I think about my career as a pro wrestler I look at all the opportunities I’ve had or have passed up. A sport where chances are only presented to certain people at certain times in their careers. Life is the same way… Let’s be honest we all don’t get the same shots at life. Some of us are stuck fighting from the bottom our whole lives. You can deal with it your whole life. Waiting and waiting and waiting for your time to shine. Or you look at yourself in the mirror one day and say “why am I waiting? Fuck waiting! I’m going to make my own opportunities!”
