The Late Night News Dribble – February 4th, 2007

News

Editors Note: for the unintiated, The Late Night News Dribble takes all of the news that most wrestling sites will give you in drips throughout the day and consolidates them into one easy to read, snarky news post.

Why is Scott D’Amore being spotted at WWE events?
The dribbleres have informed me that Scott D’Amore was seen talking to WWE Canada VP Carl MeMarco in Windsor, Ontario.

Invest in the Wild Samoan Wrestling School and WXW
Supposedly Afa and Sika, the Wild Samoans, will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. On their website they’ve got a humorous video trying to get you to sign up. This video includes graduates the Rock, Batista, Billy Kidman, Luna Vachon (says she was trained there, shouldn’t have Mad Dog Vachon trained her?), Gangrel, Mick Foley, Brother Devon, the Undertaker, The Iron Sheik, King Kong Bundy, Brian Knobbs, Bruno Sammartino and Lou Albano. Also, you can check out what Afa’s daighter looks like too.

Lance Storm is my hero

How a company with such an amazingly talented locker room can produce such an unwatchable show is beyond me. Actually it isn’t beyond me I watched Vince Russo do it in WCW. There is an old expression: “Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Someone needs to explain the history of WCW to Dixie Carter.

From Lance Storm’s recent post entitled “Russoriffic“. Lance Storm, IWC, IWC, Lance Storm. you two are gonna get along great.

TNA is coming to the XBox 360
Not in the way you were thinking of. The first 33 episodes of TNA are available on th XBox Marketplace for the 360. The episodes cost 160 points, which is about $2 per episode. find more ino about it here. Of course, TNA has been available for a while now on iTunes, but that’s been highly under publicized. Check out TNA on iTunes (warning: link wil open in iTunes)

Hulk Hogan gets interviewed
What did Hogan have to say during his interview with Main Event radio on CJLO 1690 in Montreal? The Big Show is not going to be involved with Wrestlemania, that the Macho Man, One Man Gang, Big John Studd, Paul rndoff, Kamala and Andre are… his favorite opponents and that the crowd reaction to his match with the Rock was the highlight of his career.

Roddy Piper returns… to movies
It’s not exactly “They Live 2”, but Piper has been signed to play the father of a sweet sixteen girl for an MTV movie based on their My Super Sweet Sixteen property. He’ll be shooting the movie over the next three weeks.

Smackdown returns to… Direct TV
Some people have been reporting that they are able to ask for the CW Network on Direct TV for about $1.50. It’s being broadcasted on channel 385.

WWE posts many things
Divas!

Tazz’ commentary is all about how we should just move on from the old ECW. He also says that the past in the past and backs Vince’s point of view. Tazz has always been a company line kinda guy, but come on man. Everyone knows that ECW is the bottom of the pile of the WWE shows.

Elijah Burke vs. Barack Obama

They Keep on Bloggin’
No, seriously, Jim Ross has posted another one, this time talking about Tazz, the Megapowers, the Super Bowl, Brock vs. Goldberg and more… Also Matt Hardy’s latest blog talks about inner peace, closure and the like.

And this week’s “That doesnt deserve an exclamation point” news
Scotty 2 Hotty debuts on the RAW roster!
“On this week’s edition of Heat, Scotty 2 Hotty competes in his first Heat match since 2002 when he takes on Jared Steele. Also, Eugene is in action and The Highlanders & Hacksaw Jim Duggan meet Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch & Viscera in a six-man tag team main event.”
