SUNDAY

I’m From Rolling Stone

Somehow I miss this week’s episode. There doesn’t seem to be another new episode next Sunday, but in two weeks it looks like there is one. So I should be able to watch the one I missed here and do that one as well. So until then..enjoy you Sunday off!

MONDAY

The Hills

Heidi is trying to make up with Audrina. She is going to have dinner with her later. But before that she has issues with Spencer, of course. Heidi is going to go home for a few days for her mom’s birthday. At work, a guy named Max tells her that she may be dressed inapproriately for work. He didn’t say that himself. Others have gotten in trouble over it before. So Max is just warning here.

This all leads to the most retarded and fake “blow up” ever. Spencer and Heidi are having lunch and Heidi tells him about what Max said. Heidi asked her boss if what she was wearing was wrong to wear at work. He said no, so basically Max was lying for whatever reason. Here comes Max to the place they were eating. Somehow this leads to Spencer getting up and confronting Max. He says stupid stuff like “we all love the way Heidi dresses” and don’t tell her what to wear basically. Max brushes him aside and Spencer seems ready to fight this guy for no apparent reason, other than what he said. Spencer is dumb and a “tool”.

Lauren and Whitney chat about Lauren’s date with Brody. Whitney wants to know if they kissed and everything like that. Lauren finally admits that they did and Brody is a “maybe, possibly, yes” a good kisser. So love is in the air and later when Lauren and Heidi go to the club to “surprise” Spencer, Lauren meets up with Brody who says he is so excited to see her. Basically, Lauren showing up there made his day. Brody is cheesy, but smooth.

Unlike Spencer, who finally gets caught. Heidi misses her flight to Colorado. So she decides to drop in on Spencer. Spencer and Brody had gone to the club with 3 “up-and-coming” Playboy Playmates. Yes, they are blonde and have huge assets. Heidi and Lauren show up and Spencer is surprised to see her. He tries to play everything off, but then another girl tells Heidi that Spencer has done nothing but hit on every girl in the club. Heidi storms out with Lauren. Spencer doesn’t really seem to care.

Everyone told Heidi to stay away from Spencer, but she had to learn for herself. Too bad it looks like she hasn’t learned her lesson just yet. Heidi screams that she is “over him”, while Lauren talks to him on the phone. Somehow I don’t believe her, though.

DanceLife

Celestina is having dance AND boyfriend issues. Tommy, her boyfriend, wants to hang out with her, but Celestina had to actually cancel a date with him to go on a last minute audition for Ashlee Simpson. She has another audition after that, but it gets cancelled, so Celestina calls up Tommy to see what he is doing. He has made plans with his friends already, so no go there. Their schedules just won’t match up.

Jersey finally gets the big break she needed. She goes and auditions for Ashlee Simpson, along with Celestina. In the end, Ashlee picks Jersey AND Celestina for the job. Jersey is extremely excited about that to say the least. Celestina again has to cancel some big weekend plans with Tommy to do the Ashlee Simpson show. Tommy is almost ready to break things off with her.

There is a big event called “Carnival” happening during this episode. It’s a showcase event for all of the dancers. Everyone works hard to prepare for that. Blake and Nolan are in the show. Blake thinks he is the greatest dancer ever and puts down Nolan’s dancing behind his back. There is some hatred there for sure. Meanwhile, Jersey is not completely focused on her dancing with a famous choreographer, Phlex.

In the end, it’s Tommy’s idea to go to “Carnival” to see what all of the dancing is about. They seem to be on good terms again. Everyone dances without a hitch. Carnival is a success. And this was just a “so-so” episode.

TUESDAY

Road Rules: Viewer’s Revenge

We take a look at what happened on RoadRules.MTV.com over the weekend. The fans decided to vote Veronica into “The Pit”. They voted to have Tori, the semi-cute brunette girl that has won many beauty contests, to face her. They go into “The Pit” and it’s pretty much an easy win for Toi, since she weighs more than Veronica. That were attached together by a rope on a pulley system. They had to run and grab this flag. It really was a lame contest.

Shane seems to think that he will get voted back into “The Pit Crew” after this next challenge, since everyone has their own alliances without him. Tori is excited and nervous to get on the RV. Once she gets on everyone is nice to her. Shane distances himself from the others.

Time for the next mission. This mission is called “Rescue Swimmers”. They are going to save each other in the roaring rapids of some cold river. They go through the “training” part of their mission, which they accomplished without a lot of problems. Tori does not fully finish her part, but she blames that on Shane. The REAL part of their mission is to save Kina and Adam. Abram and Tori must save Kina, while Susie and Shane must save Adam. Shane has no problems grabbing Adam from the water. Abram takes charge of the second heat and they get Kina out of the water. They think they are all a team, but I beg to differ. More on that later. For now, they get $10,000 towards their final reward.

Time to vote the people into “The Pit”! Cue the evil music. Tori is exempt from voting since you have to last at least a week on the RV. Shane should be going in and someone else needs to volunteer. Adam and Susie say they volunteer to go in. Abram thinks that’s a dumb idea. This causes some heat between Adam and Abram. Adam calls Abram selfish. Abram says the volunteer thing is a dumb idea. And this can’t be real, can it? Adam is getting mad for no reason. This HAS to be fake. Okay, Shane explains to us what is going on. Apparently the girls were going to vote Abram in, but Adam is stepping in and “saving” him. Of course, Abram seems to WANT to go into “The Pit”, though. Then, he decides to just skip over that and get sent home automatically. He throws a punch at Adam and that’s that. After a good brawl with them rolling around, AND Tori crying to go home, it’s all over.

Here is the aftermath. Abram is going home. So one of the 4 “newbies” will take his spot on the RV. Two of the “newbies” will get voted into “The Pit” by the viewers. The winner gets Ab’s spot on the RV. I have to be honest here. This season of Road Rules looks totally fake! I mean the fights and crying and screaming. Tori is WAY too dramatic for me. “That wasn’t real, right?” That’s how I can sum up this episode.

Bam’s Unholy Union

Missy is stressing about the wedding. She hires a wedding planner to take care of all of the details. Bam has no interest in wedding planning. He would rather jump and down on a trampoline and push his friends down a skate ramp in a kayak.

The wedding planner had a car accident on her first day of work. That’s the best excuse EVER! Her car has smoke coming out of it seriously. Bam decides to make things right by telling Missy that she can go to New York City to get her wedding dress.

So it’s off to New York and Missy gets her dress or maybe more than one. Bam is off skating and stuff and then he sees Missy’s wedding dress. Or at least thinks it is. He thinks this dress is completely ugly, so he and his friends destroy it with mud and paint balls. Missy comes out and seems extremely pissed at Bam for doing this. Ah, but it’s all joke. It looks as if Missy was going to call off the wedding, but that dress was a “fake”. She would never keep her real dress inside of their house.

That was a good joke. Other than that, not much to talk about in this episode. Honestly, I don’t how much I can say about this show. It’s better to see this show than to read about it, if that makes sense.

Two-A-Days

Brandon is still the new guy in town. He apparently hurt his knee in a previous game. He only had to miss one other game, though. Brandon says that he and Ross need to build a relationship with each other as far as Ross throwing the ball to him. Ross thinks Brandon needs to work on the “little things” before he becomes a great receiver.

Mark and Brittany have dinner at her parent’s house. Coach Propst says that Vestavia, their most hated rival, is a dirty football team. They do all kinds of illegal moves to hurt Hoover. Meanwhile, Kristen and Charlie spend some time together. Of course, some juvenile stuff happens and Charlie gets busted in the mouth by a pencil. His gums start to bleed.

This game is big. That’s what everyone is talking about. Cheerleading coach, Shane Martin, says that if they lose this week it will be first time in 8 years that they have lost 2 regular season games. Charlie and Kristen eat with Charlie’s parents. Charlie’s mom is a little out there. “Attacking your genitals is a little dirty”.

Time for the BIG game. It’s Hoover vs. Vestavia Hills in a hostile environment. Before the game, Vestavia made them dress in a storage building, which just pisses Hoover off even more. coach Propst says it best here. “They hate your damn guts, so lets go kick their ass!” Throughout the game, Coach Propst thinks that Vestavia is performing illegal blocks. Hoover fights back and they take the lead at 14-7 in the 2nd quarter. Vestavia comes back and ties it up at Halftime. But once again Hoover kills themselves. Vestavia jumps out to a 24-14 lead in the 3rd quarter. They do make it 24-21 in the 4th quarter, though. Then, the key play happens. Vestavia fumbles the ball and Hoover has another chance. Ross leads the team down the field and throws the winning touchdown. Hoover wins 28-24! Another close one, but I have a feeling they will all be close ones.

Wrestling Society X

Still not that impressed with anything. Some nice fast action is what they should be doing, so it was a step in the right direction. But lame gimmicks don’t work. Vampiro being the first WSX champion shouldn’t shock anyone since he’s “booking” the show or at least partly “booking” it. Better than Six-Pac for sure. The wrestling guys don’t have a report up for this week yet, so that’s all you get!

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Denver

It’s been awhile since we visited the flirty relationship that Alex and Colie have inside of the house. It’s about time we start back up that drama. Let me remind you what has happened so far. Colie and Alex instantly hit it off as they are both good looking people. Colie seems to be more attached to Alex right off than Alex is. Alex is looking to have fun, and thinks Colie wants to get more serious. So he has sex with Jenn, which Jenn later regrets. Still Colie has feelings for Alex, but plays it off that she doesn’t. Meanwhile, Colie has an ex-boyfriend back home named Corey, who she still likes. In addition to that, she met a dude named Adam from her “job” and is digging him as well. So Colie wants all the boys.

Now then to this episode. We start at a club where drinking happens. Alex meets up with this chick named Stacy. They make out. They then make out some more and some more. They decide to go back to the house, while making out. When they get to the house, Colie gets jealous. She tries to piss Alex off by making him look bad. Colie says that Stacy knows the whole situation with Jenn, Colie, and Alex, but Stacy says, and Colie says this is a quote, “I want to have sex with anyways”. So Alex and Stacy have sex. Colie and Brooke can hear them having sex, and this just irritates Colie.

Colie later confronts Alex about having sex with another chick in the next room. She feels disrespected. Alex didn’t think that Colie still had feelings for him. Colie basically says she is jealous a little, but more pissed that Alex would disrespect her like that. Colie starts to cry and Alex doesn’t really say anything, which is another one of Colie’s points.

Alex talks to Brooke about Colie. Brooke says that Colie gets attached easily and is a “relationship” type of girl. She always wants to have a “boyfriend” or a relationship. Colie later talks to Adam about hanging out some more, of course. They meet up and go to dinner. Colie says she is really attracted to Adam for some unknown reason. They don’t go together, in my opinion. They chat about Corey, the ex-boyfriend from home. They are still friends. Oh, by the way, Corey is coming to visit her in Denver soon. Colie swears that they are going in different paths now and it’s not going to go anywhere with him.

Time for Colie to bring Adam to the house. Tyrie thinks Colie likes all of the attention from the guys. Alex thinks he has the upper hand now. He thinks that since Colie has brought over Adam, he can do the same and she won’t get mad. Well Alex, I have news for you. She’s a woman. She is getting back at you. You started this and now she will try to finish it. It’s not okay for you do the same thing. Alex is either not thinking clearly or he has no experience at this.

Colie and Adam snuggle up. Colie likes the way Adam makes her feel. She feels like a good person when she is with him. Adam doesn’t want to get burned by her, though, so they agree to do the “friend thing” for awhile. Alex and Colie chat it up about their “status”. This is after Alex comes back home with Stacy and then asks Colie if she cares that she is here? Colie does this head shake that I’ve seen from someone I know and that usually doesn’t mean “no”. It means “do whatever you want to do, but you are going to hear from me in the morning”. Alex doesn’t sleep with Stacy this time. Mainly because drunk Jenn comes home and breaks them up.

But basically here is where the Colie/Alex relationship is at. Colie likes Alex, but says he never tells her how he feels. Alex then says that he doesn’t feel special with Colie. Colie likes all kinds of guys. He doesn’t want to be the 2nd or 3rd guy or the 1st guy of three. If Colie wants to be with him, just say so. Right now, nothing is settled. It’s “day-by-day”.

Maui Fever

Chaunte and Anthony are on a “break”. Anna thinks Chaunte should just break up with him and be done with it. Anna wants them to both be single, so they can “mingle” with other guys. They then pose in suggestive ways to the passing cars on a street corner.

Chaunte and Anna go on an overnight trip to some hotel that Chaunte’s ex-boyfriend, Nick, set up for them. Okay, apparently Chaunte has been with every guy on the island. Another ex-boyfriend of hers, Zach, talks to Cheyne about Anthony and Chaunte. Zach then tells Anthony how bad Chaunte is. He needs to get over this quickly. That doesn’t stop Anthony from calling Chaunte later that night and wondering what she is doing. She basically blows him off again.

Sean and Kevin meet some tourist chicks on the beach. Their names are Ashley and Krissy. They take them back to their house and Sean makes out with Krissy. Kevin tries to do the same with Ashley, but she is not having it. Sean and Kevin talk to Corbin about what happened to them the other night with the tourist chicks. Corbin should teach them how to do it next time.

Chaunte and Anna dance at a club that Nick hooked them up with. Nick tries to get all touchy feely with her, but she is not having any of that either. Later Nick gets thrown out of the club after some guy pushed him or something. He says he is there every night and spends all of his money there. Chaunte says one smart thing to him, though. She tells him to “get over it”. She basically laughs at Nick for trying to hook back up with her. Not going to happen. Chaunte and Anna then take time out to talk all serious about their dads. Don’t know the story there, but it’s not a happy one as Anna cries.

Chaunte finally comes to the conclusion that she would rather have Anthony than Nick. But Anna says that Chaunte always wants someone after she doesn’t want someone else. So basically Chaunte is like Colie from The Real World: Denver. See above. Anna says she doesn’t have to be with anyone. Somehow I don’t think that’s going to happen, though.

THURSDAY

Juvies

We get to meet two more juvenile delinquents in this episode. First we have Ryan. He is 17. He got arrested for possession of weed. Him and his friends were driving and smoking pot. They turned and another car hit them he says. They then left the scene of the accident and the cops pulled them over. Ryan is more pissed that he is in jail for the weekend instead of partying. Wow.

LaRico is 14. He is from Mississippi, but came to Indiana after Hurricane Katrina. He was on the bus and he hit someone. He was charged with battery. He says the guy was yelling and pushing him for no reason. So he fought back and got arrested. He says that he doesn’t have anger, but he did beat up that guy pretty badly. His grandmother is his guardian now due to an abusive stepfather.

Ryan meets someone that he was friends with back in elementary school named Stephen. Stephen is in jail because he stole a pair of earrings. Stephen says he was the bad kid back in school, but now they both are bad. Ryan actually laughs about this fact. LaRico says if someone starts something with him here, he will probably fight back. That would be the wrong thing to do in here. Ryan is upset that he can’t smoke anything in here. LaRico had a rough time in Mississippi after the hurricane.

LaRico was playing cards with some people. One guy wanted him to move, so he was about to fight him because he didn’t want to be considered a “push over”. He gets sent to isolation for 24 hours. LaRico worries how this will affect his judgement. LaRico gets a visit from his mom and grandmother. They say they are going to get him some help. Ryan gets a visit from his mom, which pisses him off since she fights with him during the visit. His friend Stephen later gets to go home. Ryan wonders if he gets go home now or not.

Both LaRico and Ryan say they have learned their lesson, but it’s up to the judge to decide that. LaRico goes first and he says he will tell the teachers or principal the next time this happens. He would apologize to the guy he hurt as well. The judge believes he will do better, so she releases him to his grandmother. Time for Ryan now. It looks bad since his mom does a pretty sorry job at defending her son before the judge. But Ryan makes up for it by saying that he wants to change and wants to have random drug tests. The judge releases him to his mom with the drug tests in effect. After the show, LaRico moves back to Mississippi and didn’t have the chance to apologize, while Ryan tested postive for drugs four months later.

And that ends the 29th volume of the “MTV Mix”! If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or feedback of any kind..send them my way!!

I’ll see you next time when we mix things up a bit!

Sir Linksalot: Reality Television

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
