Healthy Ratings & Rated RKO’s WrestleMania Role

News

There are no plans in place yet regarding Edge and Randy Orton’s roles at WrestleMania. They will be on the card but probably not at the level some feel they probably deserve. Some have suggested a singles match between the two to try and keep them in the limelight, but that would hurt the revival of the Rated RKO feud with DX planned for the summer.

There was good news on the ratings front for WWE. The 02/05 episode of Raw hit 5.8 million viewers, the highest number since the 06/27/05 show headlined by Hulk Hogan appearing as a mystery partner for John Cena and Shawn Michaels against Christian, Chris Jericho and Tyson Tomko. Also, the 02/02 episode of Smackdown got 5.01 million viewers, the first time the show broke the 5 million barrier in a long while (Cena and Michaels appearing was not advertised, though obviously there were spoilers available). It also had the youngest viewing audience of any network, with an average viewing age of 32 as opposed to 40 for NBC and 51 for the other networks.
