Final Days of Fun in The O.C. Sun – Episode 4-6

Shows

Since The O.C. is ending a week from this Thursday, I decided to countdown the final episodes and give you my thoughts on them. I recapped the entire season three last year and now I’m back to finish out the series. I already have blogs up for the first five episodes of season four. If you haven’t seen them yet or may have forgotten what has happened, take a look…

And now lets kick off the final days of The O.C., with episode 6 from season four…

The O.C. – Episode 4-6 – “The Summer Bummer”

Summer steals a bunny and gets kicked out of Brown as a result. That’s an interesting twist. I don’t know how long that will last, though. Seth just so happens to go and “surprise” Summer at Brown. Too bad she has already left and is back in California when he arrives in the Northeast. So once again they have to possibly face life miles apart. Seth is supposed to go to Art School in the Spring. Well, now Summer is back in California until the Fall. Seth should probably stay with her for this semester, but we’ll see what they decide to do there.

I’m glad Che has stayed out of Summer and Seth’s way so far this season. Che is weird, but that works. We need a character like that. Thankfully, though, he was not there to split up the “perfect couple”. Oh, and it seems that having a pet rabbit named Pancakes for Summer has helped her transition back to California.

Ryan doesn’t know what to make of the kiss with Taylor. He talks to Kirsten and Sandy about it, since Seth is not there. They try to be the “Substitute Seth”, which is funny. Not as funny as the 80’s style music video in Ryan’s head that had Taylor all soapy and wet and..well you get the point. They finally come to a conclusion. They are going to hang out and take things slow. Of course, that doesn’t last even a full episode as they make out at the end. Still, great couple, and Taylor was still unbelievably cute and funny. What else is new?

Kaitlin’s little Laguna Beach storyline wasn’t that interesting this week. She is turning into another Marissa, battling bitchy girls and all. Didn’t the head mean girl here look like a younger version of Kristen from Laguna Beach: Seasons 1 and 2. Kaitlin sure does know how throw a “raging” Laguna Beach party, though!

Yes, Bulitt is annoying, but the right choice to annoy Julie, and Sandy and Kirsten, while chasing after Julie. I don’t know about Julie’s path back to the dark side, but that’s her character. So if she is “pimping” young guys to older women, more power to her.

Line of the night goes to Seth. It was hard just picking one, though. Whether it was calling Che “Sandals” or talking about how watching Failure to Launch for a third time shows that movie doesn’t hold up that well or various other nuggets of wisdom, Seth was “on” in this episode. I will go old school and say the best line was when he finds out that Che had a hand in getting Summer kicked out of school. Seth tells Summer that he is going to beat up Che. “I’m going to go so Ryan Atwood on his ass!”

Sir Linksalot: The O.C.

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
