From one giant media conglomerate to the other, Time Warner has reached a deal to sell the Braves to Liberty Media.
The deal, for now, is only in principle and hasn’t gone to Major League Baseball for approval, but both parties apparently want the deal done by Opening Day. At the moment, both Bobby Cox and John Schuerholz will still have jobs after the deal is done.
If the deal goes through, it obviously ends Brave fans’ hope for an individual owner in lieu of a corporate holder, but considering Liberty Media’s Illuminati-esque holdings, it could at least get the Braves another national television deal.
