TNR: Total Nonstop Recaps – February 15, 2007

Reviews, Shows, TV Shows

We start with a recap of the Aganst All Odds PPV from this past Sunday.

Scott Steiner then comes out and cuts a promo. He talks about how TNA put off his contract extension to sign Kurt Angle.

Kurt Angle then comes out and says that he joined TNA to help them. He then tells Steiner that he would kick his ass for free. Steiner says “screw Kurt and TNA.” Angle tells Steiner to do something about it and a brawl breaks out. Christian runs in, followed by Tomko. Eventually, the numbers game is too much for Angle until Samoa Joe and a few others make the save.

Kurt gets on the stick and tells Joe that since they are both in the gauntlet tonight, may the best man win.

Opening video. Duh duh…duh duh.

Next, the new Elevation X structure lowers. It actually looks pretty damn cool.

We cut to the back where Konnan cuts another great promo about how they beat Team 3D in their own match.

Christian cuts a promo backstage where tells Steiner and Tomko that they should eliminate everyone else that’s in the gauntlet and then eliminate themselves so that there is no number one contender. Steiner hates the idea and leaves. Christian then tells Tomko that he is like a son to him. Tomko tells Christian that he has a match, and calls him “Dad.” Ooookaaay.

Match 1: The Latin American Exchange V.S. Shark Boy & Norman Smiley
I guess that Machete is back in LAX. They attack to start and dominate until Smiley and Shark Boy hit a dosey-doe. Their offense doesn’t last long, though, as Homicide hits a cutter on Shark Boy and Hernandez hits the Cracker Jack on Smiley. Hernandez powerbombs Smiley and Homicide hits a top rope senton for the win.

Winners: The Latin American Exchange

Team 3D appears on the big screen with some guy from The Sopranos. They challenge LAX to a Belting Pot Match, and they accept. The Sopranos guy actually uses the word goombas. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

We get a video review of the Eric Young/Robert Roode/Traci angle. Not to sound cheesy, but I kind of feel bad for the guy.

In the back, Traci and Robert Roode trash EY some more. JB tries to stand up for poor ol’ Eric, but Roode quickly shuts him up.

Video recap of the Gail Kim/Miss Tennessee feud.

Next we get an arm wrestling match. And no, I’m not kidding.

Match 2?: Arm Wrestling Match
Gail Kim V.S. Miss Tennessee

Um, Gail Wins. Hey, that didn’t take long at all.

After the match, a big brawl breaks with Petey Williams running in. He gets taken out by Storm, but Chris Harris jumps out of the crowd and chasis him off.

Chris Sabin is in the back dressed as an old man again this week. He mumbles something before Bob Backlund comes in and yells at Sabin for disrespecting the elderly. He then says that he will have a competitor for next week’s ladder match.

Next up it’s the Paparazzi Productions time. It’s Paparazzi idol for Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt with Kevin Nash, the fat oily guy, and a drunk So Cal Val as the Judges. Lethal sings a bad rendition of Amazing Grace. So Cal likes it, but the other two aren’t impressed. Lethal then does the all time greatest Randy Savage impression ever. Nash likes it.

Next we get a promo for the Ron Killings “Rocky” movie. Killings yells “Adrian” and an overweight woman comes in they argue. Moving on…

We get a video review of the Sting/Abyss storyline.

Main Event: #1 Contender’s Gauntlet for the NWA Championship
Sting and A.J. Styles are the first two men out. Sting hits a backdrop and a couple of slams before Rhino comes in as the next entrant. Rhino goes right for Styles and hits a press drop as we go to a…

Fallen Angel promo.

We come back and Chris Sabin, James Storm, and Kip James have entered. Abyss comes out next and goes after Sting. Abyss hits a big boot on Rhino and a chokeslam on Styles. Abyss eliminates Sabin. Kurt Angle is the next man out and hits a German suplex on Storm. Angle then goes to work on Kip James. Angle eliminates Storm. Sting pounds on Abyss in the corner. Tomko is next out and he goes right for Sting. He then dumps both Styles and Rhino, but takes a German suplex from Angle. Samoa Joe is next, and he jabs everyone and tosses Kip James.

Robert Roode, B.G. James and Eric Young have entered, and Scott Steiner is the last man out. Steiner works over Sting in the corner and then tosses B.G. Tomko and Steiner try to toss Angle, but Sting saves him as Joe eliminates Abyss. Angle suplexes Roode but gets tossed by Steiner. Roode hits the lariot on Sting. Sting hits the Stinger Splash and tosses Roode. Tomko tosses Young. Tomko and Steiner double team Joe for a while and catch him on the apron as they try to eliminate him. Steiner pushes Tomko away, which he doesn’t appreciate. This allows Joe to eliminate Steiner. Tomko misses a charge in the corner and Joe hits an enziguri. Joe hits the muscle buster for the win.

Christian and Steiner come in, but Angle comes down to even the odds as the show ends.

Adrenaline rush…adrenaline rush.
