Dave Meltzer at WrestlingObserver.com reports that, as of today, Bobby Lashley will be announced next Monday as Donald Trump’s wrestler against Umaga. This angle has been covered all over the mainstream media, including an AP story and CNN and Fox News crawls at the bottom of the screen. In fact, on the E! channel’s Daily 10 today, video was aired of a recent photo shoot that revealed Lashley as Trump’s selection and Steve Austin as special guest referee. In other news, Pro Wrestling Insider has reported that Austin was backstage at No Way Out on Sunday.
A major angle is expected to be shot tonight for ECW or Smackdown, at the tapings which are sold out from San Diego. Rey Mysterio will be at the tapings to give an update on his health if not shoot an angle.
