Jerry Rice and Emmett Smith must have left a good impression on the producers of Dancing, because we’ve got not one, not two, but THREE athletes in the lineup for next season. YOUR competitors are:
– Laila Ali Undefeated female boxer and youngest daughter of Muhammad Ali
– Billy Ray Cyrus The “Achy Breaky Heart” guy who helped revive the mullet a few years back
– Clyde “the Glide” Drexler One of the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players of all time and a helluva dunker
– Joey Fatone Former member of ‘NSync and occasional actor.
– Shandi Finnessey Miss USA 2004. If you watch GSN you may remember her on Playmania or Lingo. I’ve seen her on Ultimate Blackjack Tour as well, where ironically she was a model alongside Niki Ziering, ex-wife of one of her competitors.
– Leeza Gibbons Former host of Entertainment Tonight, Extra and an eponymous daytime talk show.
– Heather Mills The soon-to-be ex-Mrs. Paul MaCartney, and the first contestant on the show to participate with an artificial limb. If my count is correct, she’d be the third amputee to participate in a reality competition.
– Apolo Anton Ohno Two-time Olympic gold medal winner for short-track speed skating. I hope he didn’t have to quit his job for this.
– Vincent Pastore Played “Big Pussy” on The Sopranos and co-host of “The Wiseguy Show” on Sirius Satellite Radio
– Paulina Porizkova Supermodel and former spokesperson for Estee Lauder. She was in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition (and a two-time covergirl) back when that meant something. She’s also made of The Cars one of the luckiest men alive.
– Ian Ziering Steve Sanders on Beverly Hills 90210.
Weak lineup? Yeah, I’d say so. I guess we should expect Jason David Frank, Jenny Jones and Sasha Mitchell for season 5…
Dancing With the Stars season 4 premieres March 19.
