Broncos' Reserve RB Damien Nash Collapses And Dies

Tragedy continues to befall the Denver Broncos’ organization as they have lost another football player before his time in less than two months.

Reserve running back Damien Nash, 24, collapsed and died Saturday night after appearing in a charity basketball game in St. Louis. The game was to collect proceeds for the Darris Nash Find A Heart Foundation which raises money for heart transplant research. The foundation was created just last month after Damien’s brother Darris, 25, received a heart transplant.

There are no real details as the incident just happened recently and an officer with the St. Louis police said the investigation is in its “very earliest” stages.

Nash was drafted out of the University of Missouri in the fifth round of the 2005 draft by the Tennessee Titans. He played in three games as a rookie with the Titans and signed as a free agent with the Broncos just last summer.

Broncos’ cornerback Darrent Williams was shot to death outside a night club on January 1.

We’ll have more on this story as it becomes available.
