Sony has announced another film that will get the extended cut treatment on DVD. The film is Donnie Brasco, and it stars Al Pacino, Johnny Depp, and Michael Madsen. The DVD will be available to own on May 8, 2007, and should set you back about $19.94.

This new cut will have an additional 20 minutes integrated into the film and will be presented in a digitally remastered anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track.

Extras will include an audio commentary from director Mike Newell, and an exclusive Donnie Brasco: Out from the Shadows featurette. No word on whether or not Newell was actively involved with the extended cut (a la Barry Levinson with Bugsy) or if the audio commentary is the same one that appeared on the Donnie Brasco: Special Edition release some years ago.
