In 1986, director David Cronenberg put forth a movie that would establish Jeff Goldblum from the world of television to the land of the big screen. Goldblum starred as Seth Brundle, a brilliant scientist who has a transporting experiment go terribly wrong. He soon transforms into a half-fly/half-man creature but the full transformation into a fly isn’t long off.
In the time of almost nothing but remakes, Cronenberg confirms that there is a remake of The Fly in the works and he knows who is looking forward to stepping into the role of Seth Brundle.
“From what I hear, Nic Cage wants he part,” Cronenberg told E!
