WSX Cancellation Update

News

While an announcement was expected today from Big Vision Entertainment, producers of Wrestling Society X, on the future of the promotion, this has been pushed back to tomorrow. WrestlingObserver.com says that BVE’s CEO Houson Curtis will make a statement by the end of the day.

WSX has virtually been in the dark, with MTV pulling the show off of its Web site and programming schedule amidst several layoffs from the company.

The delay may indicate that a final decision has yet to be made from MTV, but it should be noted that Big Vision Entertainment owns the show and could in theory bring the full season to another network, release it on the Internet or even just go straight to DVD with the already-taped episodes. Also, if Comcast’s video-on-demand deal was with BVE and not MTV, there may be a chance of the rest of the shows being made available to cable subscribers on Comcast systems.
