Assistant District Attorney Willy Beachum (Ryan Gosling) has everything going for him. He is in line for a new position that will take him to the top of the legal world and get him anything he desires. He only has one case left to finish at his old job that should be nothing more than an open and shut situation.
The case a straight-up murder where Ted Crawford (Anthony Hopkins) has pointed a gun at his wife’s head, pulled the trigger, and sent her to her death. Crawford has confessed to the murder and Beachum has everything he needs to send him to prison. The case doesn’t seem so easy when new information is being revealed and everything looks to be more of an elaborate set-up rather then a simple case. Crawford may play everyone enough to set himself free while Beachum is losing a must-win case that could also cause him his new job.
