– Promos for EXC’s next event were shown during Showtime Championship Boxing and while no fights were announced, the show will take place in June. That’s good news. I heard rumors of a May 5th date and I’m glad it didn’t happen. That would have put them against the Oscar De La Hoya/Floyd Mayweather Jr superfight.
– Bill Goldberg and Gina Carano were at the Israel Vazquez/Rafael Marquez fight on Showtime Championship Boxing. They were interviewed before the main event but it was the standard fare. Goldberg hyped EliteXC and MMA while paying respect to boxing. Good idea given the surroundings. Goldberg also hopes that Renzo Gracie/Frank Shamrock II can be made for a future EXC broadcast.
Gina Carano was asked why she fights since she has such a pretty face. She says she should be able to do what she likes to do and if people disagree than it’s their problem. Gina also seemed flattered to be the “face of women’s MMA” but she gave credit to all the women that came before her.
