Bryan Danielson Wants NWA Title

News

The National Wrestling Alliance posted the following video on its Web site and YouTube:

Currently the NWA World Heavyweight Championship is licensed to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and defended on its pay-per-views, TV shows and house shows, so either “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson is going to TNA and challenging the winner of the Christian Cage/Samoa Joe match for the NWA Title at next Sunday’s Destination X PPV or petitioning the NWA executives to get him a title shot. In fact, Mike Johnson at Pro Wrestling Insider is reporting that NWA and TNA are in a financial dispute over compensation for use of the titles, particularly with TNA planning more house shows, and that there’s a pretty good chance TNA will be dropping the “NWA” name from its World Heavyweight and World Tag Team Championships in the near future.

Danielson appeared on March 2 as a special guest ref at an NWA Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling show, and then took the ref shirt off and won the match (it was a gauntlet match).

In other NWA news, the sanctioning body will be in Perth, Australia later this year to crown the first ever NWA Australian National Champion. This was announced by NWA Executive Director Bob Trobich in Las Vegas, as seen in the following video:

NWA has also posted a video of Adam Pearce vs. Nelson Creed from Las Vegas on its site.
