In The Huddle – NFL Update

~ NFL.com’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Eagles’ WR Donte’ Stallworth has agreed to a deal to join the Patriots. It’s still being said that he is due to meet with both Titans and Dolphins officials this week but the deal from the Pats has been offered.

~ The Panthers have released long-time back-up QB Chris Weinke.

~ Raiders’ LB Napoleon Harris has reached an agreement with the the Chiefs on a 6-year deal with at least $6 million guaranteed.

~ The Dolphins have agreed to terms with Steelers’ LB Joey Porter on a 5-year, $32.5 million deal that includes $20 million in guarantees.

~ The Bucs have agreed to a contract deal with former Giants’ T Luke Petitgout.

~ The Saints started bulking up their defense by signing MLB Brian Simmons who was cut last month by the Bengals. Simmons’ deal will be a 3-year contract but financial terms were not yet disclosed.

~ Dolphins’ DE Kevin Carter will be with his fourth team in 12 seasons as the Bucs.

~ The Colts re-signed veteran LB Rob Morris to a 1-year deal on Monday in trying to keep their late-blooming defensive unit together.

~ The Titans agreed on Tuesday to an undisclosed contract to remain with the team where he began last season as a starter and eventually made way for rookie Vince Young.
