JR, Hardy, Jillian Blog; Foley Talks About Diaries

News

There’s GREAT Mick Foley interview on IGN Sports where he talks about his new book Hardcore Diaries, CM Punk (including claiming WWE dropped the ball on him), possible ways WWE could re-visit his feud with Melina and more. Definitely go out of your way to read this one.

Jim Ross blogs and blogs and blogs! Here are some excerpts on announcing in WWE and one on CM Punk rumors:

I understand your comments about dumb things we commentators say. You have to understand, we are often told things to say in our headsets or have been instructed to position certain things accordingly. In other words, when a play is called, we run it, or one finds himself benched. That’s no fun.

Gordon Solie in his prime and in the WWE today would be successful, but his hold by hold calls would have to change to story telling, as that is the WWE style and what broadcasters are encouraged to do. Gordon was awesome in his day!

Arn Anderson is adversely affecting C.M. Punk? Highly unlikely. That may be an outsiders observation or interpretation of a second hand story, but I don’t see it. Punk is really good and everyone in the WWE knows it.

He also talks about Shelton Benjamin, Chris Masters and MVP’s potential, who belongs in the Hall of Fame (along with some options for people to induct Jerry Lawler) and much more.

Another WWE Superstar who loves blogging is, of course, Matt Hardy, who says the following about his character:

My “character” has been my character for a long time. I remember in high school, there was a group of people who laughed at my dreams of being a professional wrestling and said it was impossible. I proved them wrong. When I performed on WWE television as extra talent, local wrestlers and promoters told me I’d never make it cause I would be labeled a “loser.” I proved them wrong. When Jeff and I split, the majority of diehard wrestling fans thought Jeff would succeed and I would fail–but “Mattitude” was born. I proved them wrong. When I lost my job after the whole “situation” in 2005, some of those same people thought I would never succeed in the WWE again. I proved them wrong. Alot of those same people don’t ever think I can win the big one either. To prove them wrong drives me. But nowhere near as much as the people who believe in me–they drive me harder than anything else. You’ll never quite be able to understand how much your support means to me. I always feel like a victory for me is a victory for US. For every so-called pro wrestling “journalist” or “specialist” who creates opinions based on past or present actions, there’s thousands of “US” that believe future actions will lead to dreams materializing and anything being possible.

In the blog entry, Matt also notes that he and Jeff will both be on RAW house shows this week in San Juan, Panama City and Guatemala, with a decent chance they’ll be teaming up.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter and other outlets have been hinting that Jillian Hall’s new gimmick is being done to make fun of Brooke Hogan, but she claims this is not true on her MySpace blog:

Hey guys! Just wanted to drop a few lines to let you know what’s going on with me. I assume you all know that I have been doing some things a little different from what you’re use to on Smackdown. Some of you may like it and some may hate it, but I’m having a ball!!! This is the closest thing to me that you all have seen yet. I’m constantly singing backstage, and this thing kind of just happened. I love to sing, I love to wrestle and I love to entertain…it’s perfect for me! A few people asked me lately, why I am imitating Brooke Hogan? Coming straight from me, I AM NOT IMITATING OR MAKING FUN OF IN ANY WAY BROOKE HOGAN. My favorite pop star is Britney, so I get a lot of inspiration from her.

That settles it!
