Russo Frustrated with Booking, Wardrobe Malfunction & More

News

The “let’s put everyone on TV in short segments and not remember anything that happened by the end of the hour-long show” philosophy of TNA booking is happening due to pressure on Vince Russo and the booking team from TNA management to get everyone screen time. The talent is paid on a per TV appearance basis, so it is being required that everyone gets on. Russo reportedly made a comment in front of Dixie, Jeff and Spike TV executives about his frustration.

Jim Cornette — who has surprisingly been getting along with Russo — was the agent for the Sting vs. Abyss “Prison Yard” match which was pretty much drawn up by Abyss, who was happy Cornette didn’t feel he needed to change much.

Against All Odds featured quite a few non-clean finishes, with the logic being it would build to the next PPV. Dangerous booking in my opinion, but time will tell…

In Other News:

– Dixie Carter was reportedly upset with Samoa Joe for saying he was being forced to leave a promotion he loves (Ring of Honor) in a recent interview, but when Joe explained he was just cutting a wrestling promo rather that bad-mouthing TNA, she accepted it.

– Carter wanted to change the name of the TNA special to “This is TNA Wrestling” (from just “This is TNA”) after realizing that would help channel-surfers find the show, but by the time she said anything it was too late.

– While it wasn’t evident on TV, Jackie Moore’s breasts popped out of her top during her match at Against All Odds, but ref Rudy Charles covered her.

– AJ Styles and his wife are expecting their second son any day now.

– Raven’s new wife reportedly got into a verbal altercation with a massage therapist (who has a history with Raven) backstage at a recent TV tapings.
