In the land of make believe and remakes comes another as Alexandre Aja (High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes) will be directing the remake of the 1978 film Piranha. Chuck Russell (The Scorpion King) wrote the script for the film and was actually going to direct it, but that has since changed as Aja now steps in.
The original told the story of a genetic operation that went wrong and a huge school of piranhas with razor sharp teeth were released into a stream in the forest. It wouldn’t be that big a deal except that the piranhas are moving upstream and heading directly for a children’s camp and the Lost River Lake Resort.
