TNR: Total Nonstop Recaps – March 15, 2007

Reviews, Shows, TV Shows

We get a video recapping Destination X to start the show.

Jim Cornette is in the ring, which has the Sides of Steel around it. Corny tells us that there will be a ten-man Lethal Lockdown this year and that it will be Team Christian vs. Team Angle. He then introduces both captains.

Christian comes out first on one side of the Impact Zone and Angle appears on the other.

Corny says that it’s their responsibility to pick their own teammates, which Christian doesn’t like. Corny doesn’t care, and says that Christian can’t do anything about it. Christian tries to protest but music blairs over the speakers, drowning Christian out.

Opening video. DUH DUH…DUH DUH.

Tenay and West talk about the matches for tonight.

A.J. Styles comes out in a neckbrace as they show highlights of the Elevation X match.

A.J. gets in the cage and ask the people if this is what they want. He then says that his neck and ankle will never be the same again.

Styles then begins to talk about how he doesn’t even have the heart to tell his wife and kids that he won’t be able to put food on the table. He then says that Rhino is going to come down and call his wife for him.

Rhino comes down and gets into the cage. Rhino corners Styles, which causes A.J. to back off and apoligize for what he’s done to Rhino and that he wants it to be over. Don’t we all.

Rhino reluctantly obliges and turns to leave, but Styles attempts to attack him with a crutch. Rhino blocks it, but A.J. kicks him in the testes, rips off the neckbrace, and beats on Rhino as we get some…

Lockdown promo.

We come back from the break as Styles and Rhino are still brawling in the cage. Rhino is in control until Christian comes down with a crutch of his own.

Styles and Christian double team Rhino until Angle and Joe come down and the heels flee to the back.

JB is in the back with LAX and Alex Shelley. Shelley says that he and LAX go back a long ways.

Konnan then gets on the mic and says that they are the best and that he’s going to be out of the wheelchair soon and whatnot. You know…the usual.

Kevin Nash is in the ring with Sonjay Dutt, preparing to introduce Jay Lethal.

Before that, however, we go to the back where JB is with Chris Sabin, who’s playing video games, and Bob Backlund, who’s working out.

Sabin get’s all uppity and says that he’s the God of Wrestling (although it’s much cooler when JBL says it).

JB wants to know what the hell Backlunds doing, but before Sabin can tell him, Bob interrupts and talks about stuff. Backlund continues to talk as I continue not to give a rat’s ass.

Back to the ring, Nash introduces Jay Lethal, who has a cheap ripoff of the old Macho Man theme, leading to a match.

Match 1: 3-Way Match
Jay Lethal vs. Kaz vs. Jerry Lynn

Kaz attacks Lethal to start. Lynn get’s a rollup on Kaz for 2. Lethal get’s a 2-count on Lynn using the backslide. Kaz goes for a Yakuza kick, but he misses and gets a drop toehold into the ropes for his troubles. Lynn attempts to capitalize but gets hit with a leg lariat from Lethal. Lethal hits a baseball slide on Lynn and tries to dive back into the ring, but Kaz catches him with a cutter that looks like it nearly killed Lethal. That gets 2.

Lynn works over and gets an inverted DDT for 2. Kaz gets a rollup on Lynn and then catches a charging Lethal with a Northern Lights Suplex and tries to pin them both. Sweet spot, but it only gets a 2-count.

Lethal hits the hiptoss/cartwheel/dropkick combo on Kaz and trades counters with Lynn until Jerry gets a victory roll for 2.

Lynn tries the Cradle Piledriver, but Kaz breaks it up. Jay hits the Lethal Combo on Kaz for the win.

WINNER: JAY LETHAL

After the match, Christopher Daniels (who is sporting a beard) attacks everyone with a bat and hits the Last Rites on Lynn.

JB is in the back with A.J. Styles and Christian. Christian says that Styles is the first recruit for Team Cage at Lockdown.

A.J. brings up a future title shot and Christian gets pissed and says that they’ll worry about that after Lockdown.

The Latin American Exchange & Alex Shelley vs. Team 3D & Brother Runt

Jonny Rodz comes out with 3D and Konnan joins the commentary table.
Shelley and D-Von start, but Shelley doesn’t want any part of him and tags in Hernandez. Hernandez controls to start until D-Von hits a Thesz Press.
D-Von continues to control and tags in Ray, who has his left arm wrapped up.

Hernandez takes control with a clothesine and tags in Homicide. Homicide works on Ray’s arm and spits on D-Von.

Homicide continues the onslaught until Ray gets a side slam for 2. Ray gets a slam and tags in Runt, who gets the double stomp. Runt is a house of fire until Shelley pulls him out and slams him into the rail, followed by dropping him face-first on the apron.

“Best of the Tag Teams” promo.

The heels are dominating Runt as we’re shown what the heels did to him during the break. Shelley hits a frog splash and Hernandez hits a splash. D-Von breaks up the pin at 2.

Heel miscommunication leads to a hot tag to D-Von, who is pissed. D-Von destroys the heels. D-Von brings Shelley in and 3D beats him up for a while, but LAX comes in and a big brawl breaks out. Hernandez throws Runt to the outside on top of Rodz, but gets clotheslined out himself. 3D hits the WAAAAAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZZUUUUUUUUP head butt on Shelley.

Ray wants D-Von to get the tables, and he obliges. Machete confronts the ref and talks trash to Rodz while Shelley gets 3Ded through a table.
Homicide pulls Ray out and Hernandez rolls up D-Von for the win.

WINNERS: THE LATIN AMERICAN EXCHANGE & ALEX SHELLEY

After the match, Konnan gets on the stick and says that LAX is going to tarnish 3D’s legacy.

Raven and Serotonin are in the back, and Martar is refusing to beat Kaz with the kendo stick. Raven says that it’s not about wins and losses, it’s about psychological damage. Raven tells Martar to hit Kaz, but Martar refuses, so Raven bitchslaps him and tells him to leave. Devine won’t hit Kaz either, so Raven whacks him with the kendo stick.

JB walks into the men’s bathroom, where Eric Young is cleaning toilets. JB says that Eric should call his “friend” for help, but Robert Roode walks in before he can.

Roode tells JB to leave and says that things will only get worse for Eric.

Christian and A.J. Styles are in the ring as Christian introduces their third team member…ABYSS!!!

Abyss comes down the ramp but won’t get in the ring. Sting then comes down and said that Abyss is his own person and doesn’t need to be a part of any team.

While they argue, Jim Cornette comes down and says that Sting and Abyss will team up next week to take on Styles and Christian.

Sting seems upset about it and tells Corny that they should do the match right now. Sting and Abyss clear the ring as the show goes off the air.

ADRENALINE RUSH…ADRENALINE RUSH NOW.
