Rutten Steps Down as Anacondas’ Coach

Bas Rutten announced on Saturday that he has stepped down from his coaching position in the IFL, according to MMAWeekly and Sherdog. Rutten will now have a new role with the company as the “Face of the IFL” in the broadcast booth. He will also serve as the host of IFL Battleground on MyNetworkTV.

Shawn Tompkins, assistant coach for the Anacondas, will replace Rutten as head coach. The Anacondas defeated the two-time IFL Team Champs The Silverbacks in the season opener, and swept Frank Shamrock’s Razorclaws last night.
