Picture In Picture: Grease: You're The One That I Want Episode 10

Shows

And we’re down to six. Each of boys have a D? on their shirt and the girls have an S? on their poodle skirts. Max’s and Kate’s dancing have gotten way better since the first few weeks. The opening number was Rock n Roll Is Here To Say.

The sing-off is gone this week; it’s down to America’s votes. One Danny and One Sandy leaves tonight based on the lowest vote total only. Next week has to come down to Laura vs. Ashley and Austin vs. Max. Nothing else makes sense.

We’ll find out who’s heading home after the break.

We eliminate a Sandy first. They save Laura first, leaving Allie and Ashley. Ashley passes on elminating Allie. No shocker here weakest remaining person. On the bright side, one of the right two women will win.

Next up is the Dannys. Well, the best of all three of them would make one heckuva Broadway performer. Of the three remaining, Derek is the weakest singer, but the best look. Austin is saved first then Max after the break. Derek is sent home. Again, probably the right call. You can fix look; it’s tough to fix the guy’s voice cracking constantly.

And there were two or four depending on how you look at it. The girls will sing a song together, then the guys, and then pair off for a guy/girl duet, then the other guy/girl will do a duet.

Rather than recapping all four performances, I’ll just say this. I’ve been very much pegged both Austin and Ashley as the winners of the show. Each week I’ve said it in some way or another. After the performances tonight, I’m wrong on both counts. Max and Laura work well together. They’re believable together and both sing better than the other two. There’s visible chemistry. Given that the rest of it is a toss-up, the right people to go on to Broadway is Max and Allie. I’m forgoing the general recap here because most of the show was hopelessly cheesy with video packages that I don’t care about and pleas for votes that I really don’t care about.

All said, I think Max and Laura should go on (as did all the judges). Now, it’s up America to decide.
