TNA Backstage Destination X News, Lockdown Updates

News

TNA has so far sold over 3,000 tickets for Lockdown in St Louis on the 15th April, an encouraging number one month in advance. The two additional members of the Lethal Lockdown teams will be Sting for Team Angle and Abyss for Team Christian. Chris Sabin vs. Jerry Lynn vs. Christopher Daniels and Austin Starr vs. Senshi with Bob Backlund as referee are expected to be added to the card. There will also be the first Chris Harris vs. James Storm match and LAX vs. Team 3-D in an Electrified Cage Match. Team 3-D are slated to win the tag team titles at the climax of their LAX feud.

The Great Muta was in Orlando to meet with Jeff Jarrett, Dixie Carter and Andy Barton of TNA prior to Destination X. With Simon Inoki out of NJPW, Muta felt he could get a working agreement with TNA, which is apparently finalised. He was in town to work on the ICP show this week anyway.

TNA did not decide on the stipulations for the Ghetto Street Fight between LAX and Team 3-D at Destination X until the day of the show.

The former Basham Brothers are still coming to TNA to be managed by Christy Hemme and feud with VKM. The Heartbreakers were used at Destination X because management want to put VKM over some teams before they debut and start the feud proper.

During his Last Rites Match with Abyss at Destination X, Sting was hit with a candelabra and wounded so badly he thought he was going to lose his eye, although he didn’t panic and continued the match.

Jim Cornette went over Gail Kim and Jackie Moore’s entire match, move-for-move, prior to Destination X.
