Jeff Jarrett Returning Soon, Plus Update on NWA Title Situation

News

Pro Wrestling Insider is reporting that Jeff Jarrett is expected back in a TNA ring by late spring, and that the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion has been backstage at all TNA PPV and TV events recently.

Speaking of the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, obviously Destination X came and went without any on-screen change to the status of the TNA/NWA title affiliations (with “NWA” referred to often throughout the pay-per-view), and Pro Wrestling Insider has said that it isn’t looking likely that there will be any sort of televised “angle” used to explain any name-change. As previously reported, once TNA drops the NWA name from their titles, it is expected that the NWA will hold a tournament of some sort. In what seems to be the set-up for this likely tourney, NWA’s Web site has been featuring a series of promos cut by top title contenders from around NWA’s different affiliate territories:

Bobby Jo Marshall

Chance Prophet

“Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce

Brent Albright

“The Machine Gun” Karl Anderson
