Star ratings are from a friend in live attendance, Derek Kelley. PK will be back with his own live report later on.

Match 1: Delirious & Jay Briscoe defeat Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal (****)

Daniels was in full heel mode, hopefully leading to a new direction for he and Sydal. Delirious has no real tie to Jay and is a strange choice for this match.

Match 2: Claudio Castagnoli defeats YAMATO (**)

Nothing special here, unfortunately. Claudio had impressed of late.

Match 3: Erik Stevens defeats Mitch Franklin (dud)

Total squash in a Do or Die match.

Match 4: Nigel McGuinness defeated Chris Hero (** ½)

Johnny Fairplay, who was with Hero, was mauled with a lariat by Nigel. Nothing special as Nigel’s strikes came off weakly, but both Fairplay and Sweeney were great in their roles.

Match 5: Jack Evans & Naruki Doi defeat Davey Richards & Rocky Romero (*** ¼)

Straight from Derek for this one:

Richards and Romero really had the heel work going. Richards especially. His, “You people don’t deserve to see me kick someone” was awesome. A lot of near falls, but the set up was too close to the Briscoe/Delerious vs Sydal/Daniels match.

Match 6: Colt Cabana & Homicide defeat Pearce and Albright (no rating)

A wild brawl through the arena made it hard to see for much of the crowd. This was furthering the newly revived Jim Cornette and Homicide feud. Homicide is doing well teaming with former enemies: first Joe and now Cabana.

Match 7: Steel Cage Match: Jimmy Jacobs w/ Lacey vs. BJ Whitmer w/ Daizee Haze (**** ½)

Another straight from Derek:

ust absolutely awesome. Ton of blood and violence. A lot of emotion. Whitmer dominated at first. They used railroad spikes and a barbed wire baseball bat and the brainbuster through the chair. Jimmy ended it with a senton splash off the cage through the table. Early MOTYC that won’t be topped by anything on Wrestlemania.

Match 8: Roderick Strong retains the FIP Championship over Austin Aries (****)

Aries fell through the table off of the turnbuckle. There was a lot of mat wrestling here, as well as stiff strikes. Aries took a DVD onto the ring apron and eventually passed out in the stronghold.

Match 9: CIMA, Shingo & Susumu Yokosuka defeat Dragon Kid, Ryo Saito & Masaaki Mochizuki (**** ½)

Derek says:

Started out slowly, but it ended with a ton of near falls. Every single move was insane. It was unbelievable. The cage match was better because of the emotion, but this match was tremendous as well. Two MOTYC on one card.

That covers that. Highest possible recommendation to buy. If you trust my taste and find yourself questioning Derek’s, I assure you, it’s top notch. Get this show.
