Last Wednesday, WWE staff went to DSW to inform Josh Hamilton of the ending of their relationship. While there, they sent all the equipment and the ring to Steve Keirn’s school in Florida, which has long been considered a future developmental area.
All DSW talent will be reassigned, either to the new territory, OVW, or other unspecified locations. The DSW experiment was termed a failure for which talent is not being held responsible.
Some reasons being rumored as to why WWE pulled out are as follows: (1) Hamilton signed a TV deal with the Fight Network without WWE approval, (2) Hamilton let Bill DeMott spend too much time around after he was fired, undermining Tom Prichard, DeMott’s replacement, and (3) the failure to book regular house show loops. The changes were reportedly met with a general sense of relief from the wrestlers.
