Random Reality – American Idol – Super Six Remix

Shows

Last week they got cheap and didn’t kick anyone off. Tonight they kick off TWO people! Lets see who can pull a performance out of nowhere to save
themselves….

**NOTE** I’m writing this as I watch it, so some of the song names will be missing since I can’t look them up until later**

Tonight’s guest music mentor is Bon Jovi. The theme for tonight is “Bon Jovi Songs”, of course. This should be fun!

Phil Stacey started us off as he sang “Blaze of Glory”. He didn’t pretty good, but that didn’t shock me since Bon Jovi songs are right up Phil’s alley. Randy and Paula loved it. They go as far as saying best vocal so far. Simon wasn’t as impressed, but he liked it.

Jordin Sparks sang “Livin’ on a Prayer”. I know I’m biased, but that was a trainwreck. All over the place. All of the judges agree. Randy didn’t like it. Simon thought it was terrible. Jording thought she sucked as well. Everyone agress. AWFUL!

Lakisha Jones sang “This Ain’t a Love Song”. Now that’s how you sing a Bon Jovi song if you are a girl. 100 times better than Jordin. All the judges agree again. They LOVED it. Simon even wants to kiss Lakisha after that performance and they do kiss! WOW! He says it was good.

Blake Lewis sang “You Give Love a Bad Name”. Blake says he is taking a risk on this song. He is mixing things up. That was interestin indeed. It was good, but not the greatest Blake “remix” I’ve seen. Randy says that was the most unique song sung on this show ever. Randy and Paula thought it was amazing. Simon says that half of the audience will hate it and half will love it. He thinks it was a smart move, though, since it will probably keep him around for another week. I agree, we haven’t seen that Blake in awhile and people were starting to forget about him.

Chris Richardson sang “Wanted Dead or Alive”. Chris Daughtry did it last year and I am thinking he won’t be as good. It was better than I expected. Not too bad at all. Randy was worried about tonight since no one is a rock singer. But he thinks Chris pulled it off. Paula loved it. Simon thought it was about as much as we could do with that song, but doesn’t know if it will be good enough to stick around.

Melinda Doolittle finished us off as she sang “Have a Nice Day”. She sang it better than she did in practice. Not the greatest, but Melinda can pull off anything. Paula is seriously drunk now. I didn’t understand her at all. Randy and Simon loved it. Compare her to a young Tina Turner.

Pretty good night with only Jordin really sucking it up! So to all of the Jordin supporters who think should she win, I say HA! She should go home this week!

My Standings

(Should Be Safe)
1. Blake Lewis
2. Melinda Doolittle

(Should Stay But Could Go)
3. Lakisha Jones
4. Phil Stacey

(Could Go or Stay)
5. Chris Richardson
6. Jordin Sparks

So predicting two people to go home is a little tricky. Really I think Blake and Melinda are safe. So it comes down to 4. Phil and Lakisha have both been weak in the last few weeks, but pulled out some great performances. Jordin sucked this week, but was solid the last few weeks. I can go about 4 different ways here, but I think I will predict that Phil and Lakisha go home this week since they are combining the votes from last week. Jordin should go home, though!

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
