TNA Lockdown & Sacrifice News

News

In the fall-out from Lockdown, there have been a lot of complaints about the cage that was used. Although they have regular cages in Orlando and Nashville, the Observer notes that they instead built a new one in St Louis. However, it did not look as good as the existing cages. The problem was amplified by the ring breaking the night before the PPV, with wrestlers being told to avoid certain parts of it.

Also, the ‘electric cage’ gimmick was said to be a combination of two things. Firstly, Don Harris, who would usually liaise with the people setting up stunts, is no longer with TNA. Secondly, Jeff Jarrett is far less hands on than usual due to his wife’s illness. Dutch Mantel and Vince Russo had a “back-up plan” in place for Lockdown in case Jarrett couldn’t make it. Scott D’Amore and Mike Tenay are also said to be helping with the editing process in Jarrett’s absence.

Jim Cornette was the agent in charge of the women’s match and the blindfold match at Lockdown. Chris Harris and James Storm are slated to have a Texas Death Match at Sacrifice so they can actually fight this time.

Meanwhile, starting with Sacrifice, it seems TNA PPVs will air live in Australia.

Rhino defeated the team of Doug Basham & The Damaja (formerly Danny Basham in WWE) in a handicap match at the 20th April house show in Louisville.
