Former OVW Southern Tag Team Champion Chris Cage was at the TV tapings for tonight’s show, coming back for a tag match with Jake Hager that will be on tonight’s show. Cage had disappeared more than a year ago when he was released from his WWE Developmental contract. As we had previously reported, Cage and then-partner The Miz were set to be called up to the WWE roster with a frat/hard-partier type gimmick, but Cage got released for what was rumored to be “partying too hard.” He was fired while still holding the titles, so Miz had to drop them in a handicapped match at a house show. Cage was recently seen in a dark match a few weeks ago, perhaps getting a tryout. No word on whether or not he’s gotten a new WWE developmental deal or if he’s just come back to OVW on his own to try to work his way back into good favor.
