Divas, Mark Henry, Joe Hennig & Steve Austin News

News

WWE brought in a consultant to give the Divas new wardrobes as part of the new, non-slutty, classy direction they are taking the women in. They also have new hair stylists and make-up artists and will not reveal as much skin as in recent times. Meltzer speculates this is due to management wanting to attract mainstream advertising, as well as Linda McMahon being pushed as a top female executive and wanting to avoid potential embarrassment should someone actually watch the shows.

Speaking of potential embarrassment, some feel they have to do a Batista and Mark Henry feud because of last year’s storyline of Henry injuring Batista but getting injured himself before they could follow up on it. Others feel that it would risk too much to put the injury-prone Batista in the ring with Henry. Khali wept.

As previously reported, Shane McMahon told Joe Hennig, the son of Curt Hennig, to go to Harley Race’s wrestling school instead of a WWE developmental territory. Joe had approached him at the Hall of Fame ceremony to see about getting trained. WWE’s unofficial policy is that people they discover on the indies need to be ‘tested’ in developmental, while those from wrestling families already have respect for the business and can go straight into training.

Steve Austin did an interesting interview with the Miami Herald, in which he gave his opinion on Cena, Orton, the current product and the young talent breaking through today. Read it here.
