Nicolas Cage is now in negotiations to play the role of mobster Al Capone in Brian De Palma’s prequel The Untouchables: Capone Rising.
All talks are simply in process and Cage has not actually signed on yet, but he is the man they want. Producer of De Palma’s original film The Untouchables, Art Linson will also produce the prequel. Brian Koppelman and David Levien have already written the script.
The film will follow Chicago mob boss Al Capone during his rise to power among all gangsters. It will also go through his relationship with his arch-nemesis, Detective Jimmy Malone.
