Spike TV Angry With TNA; ROH & CMLL News

News

TNA only found out about ROH’s PPV plans on the 2nd May when they were announced publicly. Samoa Joe had been scheduled to work ROH shows in August and October, including a rematch with Takeshi Morishima, but these will not happen now that all TNA talent has been pulled from their shows. TNA also approached Mark & Jay Briscoe last week but they signed one of the new ROH contracts instead of jumping ship. Also, since he too signed an ROH contract, Bryan Danielson will not now be able to become the touring champion the NWA had in mind.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer, Spike TV came down hard on TNA for having too many women getting beaten up by men. The angle with Ms Brooks taking a powerbomb and a guitar shot in the same segment was especially ill-received.

Mistico suffered an injury to his left shoulder on the 29th April, during his NWA World Middleweight Title victory over Black Warrior. He is trying to avoid getting surgery as it would keep him out of action for two months. When CMLL ran a show in San Luis Potosi on the 2nd May and Mistico had not turned up by the start of the main event the fans rioted, throwing chairs into the ring and chanting “fraud”. After the promoters made an emergency call to him and stalled for time, he arrived at the arena at 12:30am to placate the crowd, saying his plane was late. Some heels tried to beat him down but he fought them off to try and send the fans home happy.
