Update on Ariel’s WWE Release

Archive

Shelly (Ariel) Martinez posted the following today on her MySpace blog:

Thanks to all

I just want to say thank you to all who support me and wish me well. Just so you know, don’t feel bad, I’m off to bigger and better things. Soon as I got off the phone with WWE I got right back on it and made a tons of calls to connections in LA, NY and FL. It time to move and I am and I’m excited about doing other things. Stay tuned to this crazy life I lead….

While Shelly’s fans are of course sad to see her leave ECW, we’re sure she’ll be just fine. To see her resume on her official Web site, click here, and it is our duty to tell you that some of the photos there and circulating elsewhere on the Web are not safe for work.

UPDATE: Sources are saying that Ariel’s release was sparked by an argument she had with Dave Batista at a recent Smackdown/ECW show. Since in the grand scheme of things Batista’s a big star and Ariel was a minor part of ECW (and one of Paul Heyman’s favorites), with Stephanie McMahon-Levesque now overseeing talent relations, this doesn’t seem very surprising. We’ll post updates as we learn more.
