Cena, Khali, Holly & Scotty Updates

News

Bob Holly should be ready to return in under a month. In other news, Randy Orton wet his pants.

Scotty 2 Hotty was actually injured at the time of his release and had not been expected back until mid-summer. TNA should sign him and team him with Joe and teach Joe how to dance like a good Samoan.

Khali’s new manager/translator is called Runjin Singh, which is somehow a rather feeble inside joke on Dr Ranjan Chhibber, a former Georgetown University professor who was on the creative team at one point and tended to emphatically take Paul Heyman’s side in any conflicts with Stephanie McMahon – a sin that I’m sure you will all agree should never go unpunished. Needless to say, since Stephanie didn’t like the guy, Heyman got pushed and Michael Hayes mocked him a lot, the guy quit a while back. The role is being played by current writing team member Dave Kapoor. According to the Wrestling Observer, plans were afoot to bring back Eric Bischoff and have him use Khali to get revenge on John Cena for helping to get him kicked off of Raw. The idea was blocked, either by Bischoff himself or others on creative, because they felt he should be kept for a General Manager-like role if he appears on TV again.

John Cena recently surpassed Bret Hart and entered 6th place in the list of people who have spent most time as WWE Champion. Bret won his first title when he was 35; Cena recently turned 30. The only people ahead of him now are Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, Triple H, Pedro Morales and Bob Backlund.
