Jim Carrey and Owen Wilson had both been rumored before, but it seems as if Mike Myers has won the role that Danny Kaye once brought to life in The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty.
The 1947 film starred Kaye as Walter Mitty, a daydreaming comic book writer with a very overprotective mother. Mitty would imagine himself as the heroes in his comic books going on great adventures and solving the world’s problems. But when a mysterious woman hands him a little black book full of secret information from World War II, Mitty realizes being a hero isn’t all it is cracked up to be.
Jay Kogen (The Simpsons, The Class) is writing the script with John Goldwyn and Samuel Goldwyn Jr. producing. The film will not be an exact remake of the original, but have the same premise. It is being said that the writers and producers are starting completely over to tailor the story to Myers.
