Actor/director Tobe Hooper is teaming up with the writer of WWE’s See No Evil, Dan Madigan to create possibly a brand new horror icon, Tequila Joe.
Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) will be bringing his next horror release to theatres as he gets set to direct Tequila Joe. Dan Madigan has written a script and Hooper says the writer has created a character that “is the Mexican Freddy Kruger, real wild stuff. We are ready to go now!“
Hooper continues, “This is the best horror story I have heard in years. I have not been this passionate about a project since the first Chainsaw. Dan really hit this one out of the ballpark. I loved his original draft to ‘See No Evil’, it was un-friggin’-relenting and pretty intense – but Dan was disappointed that the producers changed what he wanted to show; but everything in Dan’s script new just blew me away.“
The duo are hoping to bring a new horror icon into the long list of legends such as Krueger, Jason, Michael Myers, and the one Hooper gave his own personal touch to, Leatherface. Hooper describes the new villain as “a tequila swigging, meth-snorting, whore mongering, foul-mouthed, machete wielding murderous ghoul called ‘Tequila Joe’..”
