RVD “Out Indefinitely”

WWE.com has posted the following story, updating Rob Van Dam’s status after his (worked) injury at last night’s One Night Stand PPV:

After suffering his second concussion in less than a week at One Night Stand, Rob Van Dam will now be out of action indefinitely, WWE.com has learned … It has been rumored for months that Van Dam was going to take time off from ring action to allow nagging injuries to heal. It now appears that he will have no other choice. There are also rumors that he may never be able to return to the ring.

Of course, as we have been reporting for quite some time, RVD’s WWE contract is up around the end of this month, and a few months back, Van Dam declined an option to renew his contract. The strongest rumors out there have him taking time off and pursuing a lighter schedule, either with TNA, working indies or in other countries. Of course, until he signs elsewhere, it’s always possible that he returns to WWE. It appears, for now anyway, that he wrestled his final WWE match at One Night Stand.
