Michael Ausiello of TVGuide.com is reporting that four actors have been let go from the show.
Julie Bowen (Denise Bauer), Mark Valley (Brad Chase), Rene Auberjonois (Paul Lewiston) and Constance Zimmer (Claire Simms) apparently were all in the option years of their contracts, and those options were not picked up.
But don’t worry, this doesn’t mean that Schmidt, Crane and Short are going it alone. Joining the cast are John Larroquette and Tara Summers, while Christian Clemenson (Jerry Espenson) becomes a series regular.
Larroquette seems to have come full circle with this role, as older viewers will remember him as the sex-obsessed DA Dan Fielding on Night Court. Replacing Odo, Keen Eddie and that chick from Happy Gilmore with Dan Fielding? Seems like a fair trade to me.
