[NEWS] Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare

News, Shows

TVGuide.com is reporting that Gordon Ramsay is getting sued. But not for the abuse he hurls in Hell’s Kitchen. Rather, he’s being accused of falsely creating events in his new series Kitchen Nightmares. The former manager of Dillons in New York, Martin Hyde, has claimed that Ramsay falsely deemed meat spoiled, simulated worn furnishings and hired actors to pose as customers. He’s seeking millions in damages.

Interestingly, a similar incident happened in England concerning Ramsay and the original version of the show, Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. The London Evening Standard accused Ramsay of fakery relating to Bonaparte’s in West Yorkshire. Ramsay sued for libel, and was eventually awarded £75,000 (approximately $150,000USD) in damages. If we use that as a precedent, then perhaps Mr. Hyde may want to reconsider his claim.
