The girls who learned all about life in the big city and also life between the sheets are going to be heading to theatres.

HBO has teamed with New Line Cinema to bring the series Sex And The City crew back together and create a feature film about the girl’s exploits. Filming is set to begin in the fall.

Michael Patrick King, executive producer of the series, is going to direct off of a script he has written. Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall, and Kristin Davis are all expected to star in the film reprising their roles from the show.

The film version of the show has been rumored for about two years ever since the show ended. But when Cattrall backed away from wanting anything to do with it, everything was put on hold and almost scrapped. She apparently wanted script control and a higher salary to compare with that of Parker. Parker had a higher salary though because she also was the co-executive producer of the show.

No word on if other characters from the show will appear and if they do, if they’re real-life counterparts will play them again. As production gets closer though, more will become known.
