Preview: It’s not easy being gold
July 6, 2007

One week after Batista made Edge’s life a living hell, the battered and bruised World Heavyweight Champion will step inside the SmackDown ring to host an edition of The Cutting Edge. You won’t believe who his guest is and the surprise he has in store for the Rated-R Superstar.

United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter has been riding high off of his Vengeance: Night of Champions victory over Ric Flair, but what will happen when he faces Matt Hardy in a non-title match? Will the ballin’ U.S. Champ continue to roll? Or will Hardy have an answer for the red-hot MVP?

Also, Ric Flair gets a break from disrespectful young Superstars like MVP and Carlito when he takes on another ring veteran, Finlay. Amazingly, these two Superstars have never competed against each other despite the fact that they have shared locker rooms numerous times over the years. Who will outlast the other in the first time these two do battle in their illustrious careers?

Also on the last SmackDown, Chavo Guerrero proved his champion status once again. After Chavo retained the Cruiserweight Championship for the second time in a week – this time in a Triple Threat Match – it’s hard to imagine anybody being able to take his title away. How long will his term as champion continue?

Find out the answers to all of these questions and more this week on Friday Night SmackDown at 8/7 CT on The CW Network.
