News, Spoilers

Marcus Cor Von was not at the Smackdown/ECW taping in Laredo, Texas, last night, according to PWInsider.com. He was originally slated to face CM Punk, but the ECW.com preview was changed.

From reports on PWInsider and WrestlingObserver.com, here are some more details from last night’s tapings:

In a dark match to open the show, Sylvan Grenier won a squash match.

Edge came out to start Smackdown, relinquishing his title.

In a 20-man battle royal, Khali became the new World Heavyweight Champion after knocking Kane and Batista out at the same time. Here’s the order of elimination:
1 + 2. Major Brothers
3. Shannon Moore
4. Funaki
5. Mark Henry
6 + 7. Deuce and Domino
8. Dave Taylor
9. Jamie Noble
10. Eugene
11. Kenny Dykstra
12. MVP
13. Chris Masters
14. Chavo
15. Jimmy Yang
16. Matt Hardy
17. Finlay
18 + 19. Kane and Batista

It was then announced that Batista and Kane would face off in a number one contender’s match later in the show.

Victoria beat Torrie Wilson.

Matt Hardy beat Kenny Dykstra.

Batista and Kane went to a no-contest and will both face Khali in a three way match at The Great American Bash on Sunday.

After ECW ended, they did a dark match main event preview of Sunday’s main event, with Khali being DQ’d for using a chair in a triple-threat match vs. Kane and Batista. Kane and Batista then tossed Khali as the show ended.
