After three main films, one of the X-Men will be getting the right to tell their own story and now the man behind the camera has been announced.
Gavin Hood (Tsotsi) will be directing Wolverine that is the first of two possibly scheduled spinoffs from the X-Men franchise; the other being Magneto. Hugh Jackman will return to reprise his role as Logan/Wolverine.
Wolverine is a mutant who was once a loner but found a home with the superhero group the X-Men. He has healing powers that allow him to recover from all wounds and injuries making him one of the more difficult mutants to deal with. His skeletal structure is laced with an adamantium metal which is unbreakable and also gives him claws that retract from his knuckles.
Lauren Shuler Donner and John Palermo are producing the film along with Jackman. Marvel Studios is executive producing and they are looking to start filming in the fall.
