Controversial NFL Star to Sign with TNA Wrestling

PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson and WTVF-5 in Nashville are reporting that suspended Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones has already or is expecting to sign a deal with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. An article on FoxSports.com quotes his attorney as saying he won’t be wrestling or a villain, but there are talks for him to have a role with TNA during his NFL suspension.

PWInsider is reporting that this was not a Vince Russo idea, but rather one that comes from Jeff Jarrett with approval of the Titans. Former and current members of the football team have worked with TNA in the past, and this would likely get a lot more mainstream publicity than Frank Wycheck’s dropkicks on pay-per-view earlier this year.

TNA was hoping this story wouldn’t leak until they were to officially announce it. An official announcement will come tomorrow, although Johnson says that as of yesterday the deal was completed. Johnson also reports that the feeling from the Titans’ perspective is that this will be a good way for Jones to spend his free time rather than “being left to his own devices.”
