Disney had to do some heavy bidding, but that has never been a problem before in getting what they want.

The best-selling novel The Dangerous Book For Boys written by British siblings Conn and Hal Iggulden is being made into a feature film. Numerous studios were in the bidding war for the film rights to a book that is written without much narrative. It is more like a how-to instructional manual then anything. The book is a bunch of short chapters on subjects from knot-tying to coin tricks to astronomy to how one hunts and cooks a rabbit.

Rudin has a producing pact with Disney and automatically went after the film once Disney had acquired it. The film version is aiming at a story of the struggles fathers face in raising their sons. The fathers will fight with themselves over a natural instinct to protect their boys while also giving them the freedom to pursue their natural desire for adventure and danger.
