Make Movement: Mr. McMahon’s Back, Did You Watch?

Archive

So Mr. McMahon is back, and as usual, it’s the platform for how Vince REALLY FEELS about the mainstream media (I can’t argue with him), the government (don’t be so arrogant, oh, wait…) and then a lot of soap operay BS. It’s hard to describe RAW last night, other than, what a mess.

So, let’s see, there is a PPV to promote in two weeks called Summerslam and the only match we’re really sure about is Orton versus Cena, and oh, the Son-In-Law is making his grand return. The big news of RAW wasn’t really anything to directly to do to build up the feud with Orton and Cena, it was more about McMahon versus THE WORLD and Umaga is finally a face.

Umaga being a face is something people should care about, and this should be a big story for next week. But he’s now a top face in the company since Cena has no friends, Shawn Michaels isn’t back yet, Jeff Hardy isn’t even talked about since he’s suspended and he’s one of the most popular wrestlers in the company, and Lashley is hurt. What to do, what to do.

Meanwhile, the only way WWE feels it can save RAW from the brutal ratings beating is to bring back Mr. McMahon to lash out for two hours. And it’s only going to continue now that apparently in this new storyline, he’s going to be the father of yet another McMahon. Great, more crap with no payoff that doesn’t involve a McMahon.

I don’t remember too much about the ACTUAL wrestling last night. Mickie James and Jillian Hall had a pretty good match, though Mickie hasn’t won a singles match in forever on TV. Jillian is now going to be involved in some bizarre storyline that will ultimately push the talented and beautiful Lilian Garcia. Meanwhile, Mickie is just paired up whenever they need her to be like Trish Stratus and despite getting a strong reaction most of the time, she gets buried constantly. The one thing learned from the women’s match, though far from perfect: the women can still wrestle better than the guys, yet neither of these two actually have the title.

Mr. Kennedy is also left just being Mr. Kennedy. We need Chris Jericho badly for a money feud. Meanwhile, Snitsky is squashing jobbers and no one cares. King Booker and King Lawler is a good go-to feud as I’ve said before, to pass time before the King of Kings returns. William Regal is back for some dominating the show fun as only he can, and I do like him in that tweening/heel role. The rest of the show? All McMahon.

I think the RAW rating will be up a little but nothing huge. What McMahon really needs to worry about is the NFL when the regular season comes back, I know I was craving it last night.
