Richly Deserved: Big Brother 8 – Episode 15

Shows

It’s day 35 in the house and Kail and Jen are once again nominated. Kail said Danielle promised she’d be safe while Jen wasn’t worried. You have to appreciate her laissez-faire attitude to a certain extent. Dick tried to get into their heads saying one of them is going home, even though Eric is the real target.

Eric knows he needs to secure four votes. He talks to Jessica, Amber and Dustin. Jessica promises to play both sides but keep Eric safe. Eric says he’s glad Dick and Danielle think they’re so proud of themselves. Dustin thinks the game is really underway.

Eric then talks to Jameka who doesn’t believe he’s the real target. Eric is playing super hard at this point. Jameka and Amber think about it as well on the hammock. Jameka believes they have the votes. Meanwhile Danielle talks to Zach about Nick’s eviction. Danielle is still quite upset. Danielle says her “Nick bond” with Zach can be used to her advantage. Dustin said Dick and Danielle are “out of their *** minds”.

Time to choose players for the veto competition. Danielle randomly selects Zach. Jen picks Dustin. Kail uses houseguest choice and takes Jameka. Eric wanted to play badly. Amber, who finally went an entire episode without crying, will host.

So the game is called “Numbers don’t lie.” It’s similar to the sacrifice game used last year to set up a much-needed veto for Chicken George.

The first sacrifice, how many hours would the houseguest be willing to go in a bunny suit. Kail, Zach, Danielle, and Jen took 120 hours. Dustin bid the lowest and is out.

The second involves pouring a manure-based mixture, “funk” over your head every hour for 24 hours. All of them including Jameka agree.

Next is a $10,000 bribe which no one takes. Kail and Jen then agree to go the next 30 days eating just slop. Zach is out.

Who is willing to sit out up to the next five HOH competitions? Kail and Jameka are. Danielle is out.

Finally, how much of the grand prize of $500,000 would you be willing to sacrifice to get the veto? Jen goes for the maximum half and wins the veto. Jen says the others will finally get that she’s here for the challenge, not the money. Dick says this is an awesome result.

So we see some bunny suits and Kail isn’t happy that she gave up so much and has nothing to show for it. Jameka is very upset at giving up the HOH chances. She wanted the room and the pictures. Amber tries to calm her down but she leaves to pray. Danielle then talks to her but Jameka confesses that Dani is a liar and “crap is crap.”

Danielle and Jen then talk. Dani asks her to keep Kail and they agree Eric is going up and that he’s the “biggest manipulator” (If only they knew). Even Dick tries to be nice to Jen (sure, play nice when it’s to your advantage Dick). Jen though isn’t sure if morally, she can side with Dick and Danielle.

Jessica totally plays Dick but Jen may have got to her head by telling her that Eric said he’s not going to be led around by a 21-year-old. Of course when Jessica tried to tell Dustin and Jameka what Jen said, they didn’t buy it.

Jess was stuck but then, America’s Player comes in. They told Eric that Jessica was the person he should try to convince that he’s taking to the final two. Task completed. And on top of that, Jessica’s doubts are erased and she’s back on board.

(BTW I’d love to know who rented the banner plane to rat out Eric).

After more of the dump of funk (as opposed to the Dunk of Funk, a longtime Toronto Sun Sports Desk inside joke), Dick starts to berate Eric who is just lounging in the pool. Dick calls Eric a liar, oh, about 15 times. Eric spews back and tells Dick they’re making a mistake. It’s a great exchange.

Dustin then suggests to Danielle that she put Dick up because of his behaviour. Danielle thinks Dustin was stupid as she hasn’t named her replacement nomination yet.

Finally the veto meeting. And Jen, who is now playing Big Brother for $250,000 (the other $250,000 no doubt to lure Victoria Beckham to be a contestant on Big Brother 9), saves herself and Eric goes up. Eric says it will blow up in Dick and Danielle’s face while Dick is so proud of himself. If Kail is gone and Eric is safe, the reaction of Evil Dick next week will in itself provide the best week of television this summer.

Finally, who should Eric flatter in order to keep himself safe? I vote for Dick.

Thanks again for joining us. Till next week.
